Spring Break!

Well I have a lot of news! First things first, Mel, Maddie and I are going to Paris and London for Spring Break. We each had to pay 260 euros for all the transportation and hostels. It's coming up pretty soon! I'm really excited to go! I want to see the Eiffel Tower and spend a few days in London. I'm traveling from April 9th until April 14th. On Monday the 9th, our flight leaves really early in the morning so on Easter Sunday, we will be leaving Burgos at 11:45 arriving to Madrid at 2 a.m. We will hang out in the airport until our flight leaves at 7:00 a.m. and we arrive in Paris at 9:10 a.m. We will spend Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in Paris. Then once again we hang out in an airport until our flight leaves on Thursday for London. We will spend Thursday and Friday and then we come back on Saturday.
Next thing, Cynara is coming to visit me sometime next week. She's coming on the 3rd of April and will be hanging out until Friday or Saturday and then she is heading to Italy.
Finally, registration for Millersville is coming up in two weeks. I got approved for the appeal! Pennsylvania Board of Education added two more classes to our Junior Block which prepares you for Student Teaching. The classes are a Special Education and a Literacy course. Since I got approved for the appeal, I don't have to take these classes. However, Millersville is not offering two out of the three classes that I need to graduate on time. I know it's not a big deal to graduate a semester late but I would like to graduate on time!
Playground over by Nicole's house

Slides!
P.S. There are two parks in Burgos. One that has exercise equipment that's over near Nicole's house. The other one is called Fuentes Blancas and it's in the a campground. We found slides! I'll post pictures of both parks!

San Sebastain!

On Friday, Mel, Maddie, Nicole and I went to San Sebastian which is up north in Basque Country. Maddie slept over at my house the night before because we had to get up early the next day to catch the bus. The bus ride was about 3 hours. We left Burgos about 6:45 a.m. and arrived in San Sebastian at 10:15 a.m. To get back to Burgos, we left San Sebastian at 8:30 p.m. and arrived at Burgos at midnight. It was so much fun! We went to beach and we put our feet into the ocean. It was soooooooo cold! It felt like ice cubes. We then decided what we were going to do next. So we decided to climb up to a statue of Jesus that overlooked San Sebastian. San Sebastian in Basque language is Donostia. It was like a completely different world there with most of the signs being in the Basque language. Thankfully they had translations in Spanish. I slept so well that night because of all the walking that we did!

Lunch!

Today, it was a beautiful day and we had made plans to eat lunch at family friend, Javi's house. It was really beautiful. It was in a little town not too far from the university.  I, however, ate too much! It was just so good! We had a soup with potatoes, carrots and green beans. Then for our second course we had meatballs. They were delicious! Next week, Javi is coming over here to eat. We finally decided that we are going to go to San Sebastian on Friday because it is supposed to be a nice day. We also got invited to go to Santander on Saturday. It's supposed to rain on Saturday but I think I'll still go.

Tea party!

Yesterday, my friend Becca invited me to a tea party with all the rest of our friends. It's was pretty sweet! She lives in a big house that has four floors. We got to sit outside drink tea and coffee and play Parcheese, which is a game that is cross between Parchessi and Sorry. It's like Parchessi because you have to go around the board and it's like Sorry because you can "comer" (eat) someone which means you send them back home. There were a lot of other rules but it was a fun game. It took us forever to play........In that way, it seemed  more like Monopoly. This weekend we have a four day weekend and we are trying to decide where we want to go. I think that we are going to go to go to San Sebastian which is up north near in the Bay of Biscay. We are thinking that we will go to Pamplona sometime this weekend too. The weather is starting to become nicer! I hope that by the time Semana Santa rolls around I won't have to worry about wearing a coat. http://maps.google.com/maps?ix=iea&q=san+sebastian&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=hUleT6_NKsm2hQe_nYSpBA&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=3&ved=0CCkQ_AUoAg (for the map of San Sebastian)

Nico's Birthday!

Yesterday,  I had finished my summary for History of the Spanish Language class and had submitted. My mom was trying to Skype me at 3 a.m! I was half asleep and I didn't answer it. Since it was Nico's Birthday, I told him that he had a long birthday this year. Nico thought it would only be 30 hours long but I think that if you count how long March 8th across the world it will be really long! I sent him an ecard from Hoops and Yoyo. The closest thing to Spain is the Eiffel Tower. Last night my friends and I chilled and played cards at Nicole's place. Today, we are going to meet up to walk to Decathlon, which is a sporting good store. My friends say it's about a 30 minute walk to get there. I'm looking it up and I don't know which one they are talking about. I guess that I will be going on an adventure today!

Hey Sorry!

Hey guys,
I'm sorry I haven't written in awhile. On Sunday, I went to church and the Bishop was there so they used incense  which my father told me has nothing to do if the Bishop is there. This past weekend I had three movie nights. On Thursday, we watched Up. On Friday we went to my friend's house and watched Bridesmaids and then on Saturday we watched Cars 2. We were also planning our trip for where we want to go in two weeks. I think we decided that we were going to go to San Sebastian which is north of Burgos and the capital city of Basque country. Other important news is that we have to write a summary on this article that took forever to read. The other really exciting news is that I got a package from my family. Inside it included two 4-piece Reese's Peanut Butter cups, the family calendar, a box of Girl Scout Peanut Butter Sandwich cookies, a scarf and two reminder note packs. I really love all the stuff and I have even shared with my friends! I'll be better at this, I promise!

Protest!

On Leap Year, Feburary 29th, all across Spain, all the students were protesting budget cuts and also how that some schools don't have heat. I only had heard about this protest once during class on Monday so I didn't think it would be a big deal. I thought it would be like when we were protesting the University's budget cut. Well, then yesterday, Mel, Nicole and I were in our Latin class when we heard yelling. We didn't want to be roped into a protest so we ducked under our desks because we didn't really know what to do. It scared us a little bit. Then we left the classroom and found Becca who had been in the bathroom when the people were going through our building. She definitely got scared because someone actually poked their head into the bathroom wanting to rope people into defending their cause. I later found out that Facultad de Derechos some people had set of smoke bombs. I also read in the newspaper that in Barcelona the protests turned into riots and the students were setting fire to things. I think that should be heat in all the schools and that the students should be able to vent their feelings but not get to the point were they are extremely aggressive and they become violent. I think that the students that were in our building were just really aggressive and I don't think I knew if they were going to become violent or not.
